Adds error codes for Financial Account capability errors

Public preview

Adds error codes for Financial Account capability errors Public preview

What’s new

Adds two error codes for the /v1/payouts endpoint when using a financial account as the payout_method:

  • financial_account_capability_not_enabled : Returned when the required capabilities aren’t enabled for the operation. Request the required capabilities on the connected account before retrying.
  • financial_account_capability_restricted : Returned when the required capabilities are restricted for the operation. Fulfil any outstanding account requirements before retrying.

Previously, these operations returned storer_capability_missing and storer_capability_not_active error codes. Starting with API version 2026-06-24.preview, they’re replaced by financial_account_capability_not_enabled and financial_account_capability_restricted respectively.

Why is this a breaking change?

If your integration handles the storer_capability_missing or storer_capability_not_active error codes, you must update your error-handling logic to use financial_account_capability_not_enabled and financial_account_capability_restricted respectively when upgrading to API version 2026-06-24.preview or later. Integrations on earlier API versions continue to receive the previous error codes without any changes required.

Impact

If your integration checks for storer_capability_missing or storer_capability_not_active in error responses, update your code to handle financial_account_capability_not_enabled and financial_account_capability_restricted instead. Integrations that don’t explicitly handle these error codes by name are unaffected.
